Sudden Awakening, Gradual Cultivation
Saturday, June 11 | 10 am – 3 pm EDT | Upper West Side, NYC
The Buddha taught a path to freedom from stress, a practical path with sudden insights and a dedicated willingness to engage again and again. Going on retreat is a sacred pause from daily activities, a time to rest, restore, and nourish the seeds of wisdom within.
We will begin practice promptly at 10 am. We will break for a 1-hour lunch at noon and end at 3 pm.
Recommended Donation: $50
This amount is recommended to cover the cost of the space rental and to ensure that teachers and staff can be paid for their time. If you can, please consider donating more to support those who cannot afford this amount. Your generosity supports CMC’s ability to freely offer the teachings.
Without the cost of membership or admission fee, the teachings are freely offered to all. Your donation enables CMC to support our teachers and offer special events such as this. Please consider offering dana (generosity) to support this event and your Community Meditation Center.
Health and Safety
In consideration for the health and welfare of the community, all attendees will be required to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination and at least 1 booster. All attendees will be required to wear a mask over both the mouth and nose. Capacity will also be limited to the first 65 registrants, at which point, we will open a waiting list.
Windows will be open for ventilation; attendees are encouraged to bring an additional layer for warmth.
We will begin practice promptly at 10 am. There will be a 1-hour break for lunch at noon. We will begin again at 1 pm and end by 3 pm.
